With the Atlas and FACTS integration, you can automatically sync your Atlas lessons directly into your FACTS classes. This eliminates double data entry while ensuring your lesson plans and homework assignments are seamlessly published to FACTS every single night.
⚠️Important Warning
Lessons pushed from Atlas will overwrite any existing Lesson Plan and Homework Notes data in your corresponding FACTS classes. Please make sure your lesson plans in Atlas are complete before running a manual sync or letting the overnight sync run.
FACTS Technical Limitations & Constraints
Data Overwrite Behavior: Lesson data pushed from Atlas will OVERWRITE any existing lesson data in FACTS.
Email Matching Dependency: Teacher accounts in Atlas and FACTS must use exact, identical email addresses for the synchronization mechanism to function.
Rich Media Handling: Embedded images are supported in Atlas and will initially remain visible in synced FACTS lessons. However, if a lesson is edited directly within the FACTS editor, any embedded images will be removed because FACTS does not support images in lesson plans.
Annual Archiving & Re-linking: The sync feature automatically deactivates whenever your Atlas site goes through its annual archiving cycle. System admins and teachers will need to re-link their new FACTS classes to Atlas courses at the start of each academic year.
Academic Year Alignment: Both Atlas and FACTS must be configured to the exact same active academic year for the synchronization job to process successfully.
Prerequisites & Pre-Setup Requirements
Before you can link your Atlas courses to FACTS, verify the following:
Admin Setup: Both your Atlas Admin and FACTS Administrator must complete the system-level configuration. If you're an admin, click here to view FACTS Settings in Atlas.
Matching Email Addresses: Your email address in Atlas must be identical to your email address in FACTS. If they do not match, the integration will not be able to map your classes. Contact your system admin (Support > Your Support Team) to fix your email address in Atlas, or in FACTS.
How Atlas Content Appears in FACTS
When creating lessons in Atlas, lesson plan fields map directly into FACTS sections:

Setting Up Lessons Links & Managing Sync Settings
You can set up and manage your FACTS integration from two primary locations in Atlas: Unit Lesson List or My Lessons by Week (Weekly Planner).
FACTS Setup from Unit Lesson List
Open your course in Atlas and navigate to the Unit planner > Show Lessons > Unit Lesson List view.
Click the ↻ Sync FACTS Classes button at the top of the lesson list.
In the setup modal, select the specific FACTS Class / Section that corresponds to your Atlas course.
Click Save to save your selection. This will NOT push any data to FACTS. Your changes will be synced automatically during the next overnight sync, and the data will be available in FACTS the following day.

To push your updates immediately without waiting for the overnight sync:
change the date in Sync lessons scheduled after from its default setting (the admin-defined date, likely the first day of school) to today’s date or another date within the desired sync range in the Days ahead to sync.
Then click Sync Now to push the updates immediately to FACTS.
FACTS Setup from My Lessons by Week
Navigate to My Atlas > My Lessons (My Lessons by Week).
- You’ll see a green flag for courses with lessons linked to FACTS and a gray flag for courses with no lessons linked to FACTS. Click either flags to initiate the setup process.
In the setup modal, select the specific FACTS Class / Section that corresponds to your Atlas course.
Click Save to save your selection. This will NOT push any data to FACTS. Your changes will be synced automatically during the next overnight sync, and the data will be available in FACTS the following day.

Sync Schedule & Manual Triggering
Nightly Automatic Sync: Atlas automatically pushes updated lessons into FACTS every night between 10:00 PM and 1:00 AM (Pacific Time).
Manual "Sync now": If you make last-minute edits or want to check your work immediately in FACTS, trigger a manual sync for one course at a time using the Sync now option in either setup location.
