The AI Curriculum Assistant helps educators quickly populate and refine unit plans through natural language interactions. Follow these steps to generate, review, and manage unit content using the assistant.
Interacting with the Assistant
Start a Conversation
Click the yellow button to open the AI Curriculum Assistant sidebar.
If you are unsure where to begin, click the “Check how AI can help with Unit…” button to start a conversation with AI and get suggestions for building your unit.
Or, type a specific request, for example, “Help me build this unit and suggest relevant standards.”
Or, Use voice input, click the microphone icon in the sidebar to speak your request instead of typing it.

Generating and Applying Content
When AI is asked to generate content, the assistant displays its recommendations directly in the chat window, often organizing data into clear tables or categorized lists.
Below the recommendations, AI Assistant will provide action buttons (e.g., "Add all recommended standards to the unit") to automatically insert the generated text into the corresponding category of your unit plan.
Reviewing and Comparing Changes
Once content is added, the affected category in your unit plan will display a "Just updated by AI" banner and action buttons:

Rollback
Accept
Make a Selection: Choose either the Accept and Rollback buttons directly on the planner category to confirm or reject the update.
Or, click Open Compare Window to view a side-by-side overlay of your original text and the newly generated AI version, then click Keep original or Keep AI version within the comparison window.
Managing Versions, History, and Settings
Restore Previous Versions: If you need to revert a change after accepting it, click the Recent changes (X) button at the top of each category to open the change history for that specific category. You can view the "Original version" alongside the "Made by AI" version and click Restore this version to revert the content.
Access Chat History: Click the History tab at the top of the assistant to view past interactions, review previously generated materials, and revisit saved conversations.
Customize Settings: Navigate to the Settings tab in the AI Assistant window to adjust your Voice input language, Reply language, and the assistant's Tone of Voice to match your preferred working style.
Navigating the Tutorial
Clicking the Tutorial button opens a 10-step interactive guide titled "Getting started with the AI Assistant." This overlay introduces you to the interface, navigation, and core features of the tool.
You can progress sequentially using the < Back and Next > buttons at the bottom of the screen.
A left-hand navigation menu allows you to jump directly to any of the 10 specific topics.
The current step is tracked by a progress indicator in the bottom right corner (e.g., 01 / 10).
The tutorial can be closed at any time using the "X" in the top right corner.
