Watch: My Lessons
From My Atlas > My Lessons
The “My Lessons” portal allows you to access lessons you've created, and lessons shared with you (as a co-author) in different views:
- My Lesson Calendar by Week.
- My Lesson Calendar by Month.
- My Lesson List.
- Lessons to Review.

My Lesson Calendar by Week
From My Atlas > My Lessons:
The My Lesson Calendar by Week view is displayed by default when you click the My Atlas > My Lessons.
- Click the My Lesson Calendar by Week button to switch to other views:
- My Lesson Calendar by Month.
- My Lesson List.
- Lessons to Review.
- Use the week arrows to navigate into the previous or next weeks, or select the month from the drop-down menu.
- Click the Recycle Bin to access all lessons you have recycled in the past 5 years.
- Click the Show Integrated View check box to condense the view instead of having the lessons of each course in its own line.
Add New Lesson
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the Add New Lesson button at the top left corner:
- (Required) Title: lesson title has to be unique; otherwise, a suffix such as “(1)” will be added automatically.
- (Required) Course: select one of your courses.
- (Optional) Unit: select a unit to assign the lesson to. You can change the unit assigned to this lesson later, if needed, by using the steps explained below in the "Assign a No-Unit Lesson to a Unit" section.
- (Optional) Duration: this is not required, but the lesson wont show up on any Lesson Calendar view until the duration of the lesson is determined.
- (Optional) Lesson Editors: Lessons are private and editable only by the authors when created. If you need someone else to have editing rights, please add them here.
- Click Save to start adding your lessons details, or click Cancel to abort the task.
Edit a Lesson
From My Atlas > My Lessons, you can edit a lesson in the My Lesson Calendar by Week view by hovering over the desired lesson and then following these steps:
- Click the calendar icon to view and update the lesson dates.
- Click the expand icon to open the lesson plan and edit the lesson. Click here to learn more about developing lessons in Atlas.
- Click the arrow icon to submit your lesson for review. Type a user name in the box then hit Submit. Once submitted, a pink "Pending" flag will show up under the lesson until it's approved by the reviewer. Check out the "Lessons to Review" section in this article to learn more about the review process.
When expanding the lesson, you'll enter full editing mode. Here are the actions you can perform:
- Click the Mark as Reviewed button to approve the lesson and flag it as "Reviewed".
- You can edit the details of the lesson (Title, Duration, Standards, Details, and Attachments) as desired.
- Click the Actions menu to access more actions such as (Edit Lesson Settings, Copy Lessons, Move to Recycle Bin, etc).
- Click the arrow at the top left corner to open the full lesson plan view.
- Click Close to return to the Lesson Calendar by Week view.

My Courses Panel
Only courses assigned to you as a "Curriculum Developer" and/or a "Teacher" will be displayed here.
- Check off courses to choose which one to display/hide its lessons. You can select up to 10 courses.
- Click the color flag to change the color of the course, hence the color of the lessons under this course on the calendar.
- Checked off courses are auto sorted alphabetically. Re-sort by dragging and dropping the sort icon.
Other Courses Panel
If available, only courses with lessons where you're listed as a co-author. You're neither designated as a "Curriculum Developer" nor a "Teacher" in these courses.
- My Lessons in Other Courses: Check off this box to view your lessons located in courses you don't teach or develop.
- My Lessons in recycled Courses: Check off this box to view your lessons located in deleted courses.
Print to PDF Wizard
With this feature, teachers can select which lessons from the week they would like to print, and have them all compiled into a single, convenient document.
From Actions > Print to PDF in the weekly lesson planner view:
In My Courses section:
- All your lessons for the week will be listed.
- Deselect the lessons you don't wish to print.
- Preview the results on the screen to the right.
- Click the "Print to PDF" button to compile all selected lessons into a single PDF document.
My Lesson Calendar by Month
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Week button and select My Lesson Calendar by Month:
- Click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button to switch to other views:
- My Lesson Calendar by Week.
- My Lesson List.
- Lessons to Review.

Edit a Lesson
From My Atlas > My Lessons click the My Lesson Calendar by Week button and select My Lesson Calendar by Month.
- Click any lesson you see on the calendar.
- Click the pencil icon (Edit) to rename the lesson, and update the duration of the lesson.
- Click on the lesson title on that pop-up menu to edit the lesson details and access your lesson. Click here to learn more about developing lessons in Atlas.
Delete a Lesson (Move to Recycle Bin)
From My Atlas > My Lessons click the My Lesson Calendar by Week button and select My Lesson Calendar by Month.
- Click any lesson you see on the calendar.
- Click the recycle bin icon to move to recycle bin the lesson.
- You can retrieve any deleted lesson by clicking the Recycle Bin button at the top right corner.
- Check off the box of the selected lesson, click the retrieve icon and confirm.
My Courses Panel

My Lesson List
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
By default, all lessons are sorted by Last Updated date, with the most recent listed at the top. Click any column header to sort by Status, Lesson Title, Lesson Editors, Duration or Last Updated.
Add New Lesson
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List, click the Add New Lesson button at the top left corner:

Edit a Lesson
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
- Click on any lesson you see in the list.
- Then edit your lesson. Click here to learn more about developing lessons in Atlas.
Delete a Lesson (Move to Recycle Bin)
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
- Select one or multiple lessons (click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all).
- Click the recycle bin icon above the lesson list to move the selected lesson to the Recycle Bin.
- You can retrieve any deleted lesson by clicking the Recycle Bin button at the top right corner.
- Check off the box of the selected lesson, click the retrieve icon and confirm.
Due to cloud storage considerations that might affect your Atlas performance, we reserve the right to delete anything older than 2 years in the Recycle Bin.
Modify Lesson Editors
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
- Select one or multiple lessons (click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all).
- Click the + icon to add more editors to this lesson.
- Click the - icon to remove yourself as editor from this lesson.
- Save your changes.
Submit a Lesson for Review
Once you create a lesson, you can choose to share the lesson with one or more colleagues who will review it. You can submit your lesson for review from the My Atlas > My Lessons > My Lesson List, or when you're viewing your lesson.
Submit a lesson for review from the My Lessons - My Lesson List
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
- Select one or multiple lessons (click the checkbox at the top of the list to select all).
- Click the Submit for Review button above the lesson list.
- Type in the first few letters of the editor's name and select the name from the list.
- Click Submit to submit your lesson for review. A Pending Review icon will show up in the Status column of the lesson.
Submit a lesson for review from the lesson page
In any lesson:
- From the Actions button drop-down menu, select Submit for Review.
- Type in the first few letters of the editor's name, and select the name from the list.
- Click Submit to submit your lesson for review. A Pending Review icon will show up at the top section of the lesson.
Keyword Search and Filter Lessons
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
The search function is located in the Lesson List view only. It searches the keyword in both Lesson Titles and Lesson Details, but NOT in Standards, Duration, or Attachments.
- Type in keyword(s) in the search box and hit the “Enter” key in your keyboard to search.
- The search results are ordered by Last Updated.
- Users can click the “X” icon to the right of the search box to reset the search, or click Reset Filters.
Other Filtering Options
Narrow down your search by using the “All My Lessons” filter.
Filter by:
- All My Lessons
- Lessons pending review
- Lessons not associated with units
- Lesson associated with recycled course/units
Or, narrow down your search by using the "All Courses" filter to view lessons related to one or more courses.
Find and Assign a no-unit lesson to a unit
You can create lessons without assigning them to a specific unit. Once you have your unit ready, you can associate your lesson with a unit by doing the followings:
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select My Lesson List:
- Click the “All My Lessons” filter.
- Select the "Lessons not associated with units" option.
- Click the lesson title, then click the Actions menu.
- Select Edit Lesson Settings.
- Select a unit in the Unit field, then click Save.
Lessons to Review
As a reviewer, you'll receive a notification in your Notification Center that a lesson was submitted for your review. You can access the lessons needing your review in two ways:
- The quickest method to access all these lessons is via My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select Lessons to Review.
- Or, in the Notifications Center, just click the lesson title in the Notification Center message.
Reviewing a lesson from My Lessons - Lessons to Review
From My Atlas > My Lessons, click the My Lesson Calendar by Month button and select Lessons to Review:
- Filter the view by clicking the "Select Lesson Editor(s)", then type the name of the lesson editor to view their lessons that are pending your review.
- Filter the view by clicking the "Lessons Pending Review" drop-down menu to select:
- Lessons Pending Review.
- Reviewed Lessons.
- Pending and Reviewed Lessons.
- Click the lesson title to view its details.
- Review the lesson, then click the speech bubble button at the top of the lesson (next to the Pending icon) to add your review notes/feedback. This will initiate a Private Comment to:

- The lesson editors.
- The review submitter.
- The reviewer, yourself.

- Click the Mark as Reviewed button to complete the process. This will mark the lesson with a Reviewed badge, a timestamp, and the name of the reviewer.
Lessons CAN be re-submitted for review after it's marked as Reviewed.
The lesson editors, and the review submitter will receive a notification in the Notification Center that the lesson has been reviewed. If the recipient's Email Notifications are enabled via My Settings, they will receive an email as well.

- Find the notification about the lesson that have been submitted for your review, and click the lesson title.

FAQ
What happens to the lessons of a departed teacher?
When a lesson owner leaves Atlas, their lessons can be:
- Copied by the course collaborators. The copies can be edited.
- Deleted by the course collaborators. View the lesson, and go to Actions > Move to Recycle Bin.
A lesson I own is not showing up in my My Lessons (I was removed from the map).
If you were removed from the map, you need to be re-assigned again to access your lessons in that map via the My Lessons . The My Lessons will show all:
- Lessons submitted for your review.
- Lessons shared with you as the co-author.
- Lessons you created in your courses.
I see the 400 BAD REQUEST error page, what does that mean?
That means:
- The lesson you're trying to view has been deleted.
- Or, the note you're trying to view has been deleted.
Click either the Back button to view the previous page, or the Homepage button to reach your My Atlas Dashboard.
