The powerful forensics tools in the Assessments Analysis report allow you to generate and save your own custom reports on Assessment Methods and Types, in units and lessons.

Use the Filters Panel on the left to refine your data, the Toolbar at the top to adjust report settings, and explore your results in the Report Results area in a Table or Chart View. Refer to the Legend Panel at the bottom to identify and interpret assessment categories by color.

Filters Panel

Use one or more filters on the left panel to narrow the scope of your analysis. Your results will populate as you make your selections.

  • Filter Assessments: Include only those assessed through specified methods or types.
  • Filter Standards: Limit your results to include assessments only to the selected content-area Standards.
  • Filter Courses: Limit your results further to include alignments found in courses with selected criteria.
  • Filter by Keyword: Identify where specific concepts occur within the adopted set of standards.

Top Toolbar

Includes dropdown menus for report type, display options, and view toggle (Bar, Pie, List).

  1. Click the Assessments Analysis button to quickly navigate to other reports. 
  2. Click the Assessment Method drop down to swtich to Assessment Type report. 
  3. Click the Show Unit and Lesson dropdown to toggle unit or lesson reports on or off.
  4. Select the Include Additional Assessment Method box to include analysis of user selections from the Additional Assessment Methods field in the Assessment modal.
  5. Use the view toggle in the top-right to switch between Chart Views (Bar or Pie) for a visual summary and List View (detailed table format).
  6. Click the Actions menu to save the report to your Saved Reports page, open a previously saved report, share it with another Atlas user, or print it as a PDF.

Report Results Section

The main report area displays your assessment data in three interchangeable formats: Bar, Pie, and List. Use the toggle buttons in the top right to switch between these visualizations based on your preference.

  • Bar View: Displays a horizontal bar chart showing the number of assessments per category.
  • Pie View: Offers a percentage based distribution of assessments in a visual pie chart.
  • List View: Presents the data in a sortable table format for detailed analysis.

Interactive Features

  • Clickable Data Points: In all views, you can click on chart slices (pie/bar) or numbers in the list table to drill into filtered reports for more granular insight.
  • Dynamic Updates: The chart and list content dynamically reflect the applied filters, including assessment type, subject, course, and more.
  • Tooltip Details: Hover over any segment or data point to view additional context like counts and percentages.

Legend Panel

A visual key showing the assessment types/methods represented in the chart. Each color and label corresponds to a chart element for easier interpretation.

  • Hover over the key to view the number of units and lessons utilizing this method/type. 
  • Click the key to view a detailed report of each unit and lesson utilizing this method/type.
