January 2026: Refined Weekly Lesson Print / PDF Export

We’ve improved the Weekly Lesson printing experience to better support different planning and documentation needs. No more cluttered printouts. Whether you need a quick weekly overview or a detailed daily plan, Atlas now gives you full control over what you export.

What’s new

  • Choose between a Weekly Lesson View (great for short, daily plans) or the classic Single Lesson View (ideal for full weekly plans or lessons with large tables).

  • Select exactly which lesson sections to include in your print or PDF export.

January 2026: New “Additional Details” Field for Lessons

We’ve added a customizable Additional Details field to the lesson planner to give schools more flexibility in how lesson information is shared. This feature allows educators to share public lesson links (for homework or family communication) while keeping internal professional notes private. And that’s just the beginning, the possibilities for how schools use this field are endless.

System Admins can enable this feature from Manage Lesson Templates. Admins can rename Lesson Details and Additional Details, or create custom lesson templates from the Manage Lessons page to match your school’s terminology.

January 2026: New Lesson Viewing Privileges

We’ve introduced a new, more restrictive lesson visibility option: “Only Lesson Editors can see Lessons.” System Admins can now manage all three lesson viewing permission levels directly from the Manage Lesson Settings page. This is a game changer for large districts and shared courses. It ensures sensitive, draft, or in-progress lessons stay private until they’re ready to be shared more broadly, especially when teachers from multiple buildings are working in the same course.

December 2025: Submit This Week's Lessons

We have recently added the capability to submit your lessons for review by week, in bulk, via My Atlas > My Lessons > My Lessons by Week. This new feature lets you check in on your lessons by week and quickly select to submit them for review. This update cuts down on clicks, follows an intuitive process, based on a teacher's workflow, and saves you time.

2025-12-19_10-46-10.png

You can still submit lessons individually via the lesson itself, or in bulk, on the Lesson List view. For more information on using this feature, take a look at our full article here.

September 2025: Reporting on "Outdated Standards"

We’re excited to introduce an enhancement to the Standards Overview report that helps schools easily identify and manage outdated standards. Outdated standards are the standards that are no longer visible in your standards drop-down list, however, teachers’ alignments in units and lessons remain with a warning icon that the standards are outdated.

With this update:

  • The Standards Overview now reports on any outdated standards in use.

  • The related menus appear only when units, lessons, or assessments are aligned with outdated standards.

  • Schools without outdated alignments will see no changes.

  • Admins can now review and remove outdated alignments directly from this report.

This update makes it easier than ever to keep your curriculum aligned with the most current standards.

September 2025: Faria Rebranding and Fresh Look of Atlas!

We’re excited to announce the rollout of our new Faria branding in Atlas! You’ll start to see refreshed visuals that bring a modern and cohesive look across the platform.

What’s new:

  • A brand-new login page with the updated Faria style.

  • A refreshed Atlas Dashboard for a cleaner, more intuitive experience.

  • Updated Faria branding and logos throughout the platform. FYI, Atlas schools will keep their existing color schemes.

Experience the new Atlas look; fresh, modern, and unmistakably Faria!

  • New Copy Lessons form lets you rename, prefix with initials, and update the date (which defaults to your selected day).

  • Approved Example Lessons appear by default—uncheck the box to view all lessons.

March 2025: Weekly Lesson Submission Report

We’re excited to introduce a new feature under My Lessons — the Weekly Lesson Submission Report!

This new report allows Lesson Managers to efficiently review all lesson submissions for the week at a glance, including their current status: Reviewed, Pending, or Created. It’s designed to streamline oversight and save time, especially for larger districts.

This feature is currently available only for Lesson Managers with User Groups set up. Support for Lesson Managers without User Groups will be included in a future release.

March 2025: User Groups for Lesson Managers

Atlas has just added a new feature that will make your lesson reviewing process a snap! Once enabled on your site, Admins can create user groups that allow the assigned Lesson Managers access to just this group’s lessons for review and management. If the head of your science department needs to login and quickly access lessons for their team of teachers, they can now do this through user groups. Reach out to us at support@onatlas.com to have this enabled today.

This action can be performed directly from:

  • The Actions menu within an individual lesson, or

  • The Manage Lessons tool, allowing you to clear statuses in bulk for multiple lessons at once.

January 2025: Quickly Add Lesson Collaborators

You can now easily add all Curriculum Developers and/or Teachers as Lesson Editors with the check of a box! Not only is this quick and easy, but it will automatically sync any changes to course assignments so that the current curriculum developers and/or teachers always have access. System Administrators can determine whether or not collaborators are added by default.

Once the review is complete, any reviewer can mark the lesson as Reviewed. Draft Units are Here!

Now Curriculum Developers can mark their in-progress units as drafts. Draft units can only be seen by the Curriculum Developers, or users with editing privileges, for a particular course. Prioritize Standards within a Unit!

Now Curriculum Developers can identify Priority and Supporting standards at the unit level! How does it work? First, Atlas system admins need to create the flags in Atlas, then all curriculum developers can start flagging standards in their units! If you're a system admin, click here to learn more about creating the flags in your Atlas. If you're a curriculum developer, click here to learn more about flagging the standards at the unit level. Click here to know what reporting capabilities come with it!

A Recycle Bin for your Lessons

Now you can restore deleted lessons to your My Lessons list.

Role-Based Privileges

Atlas now distinctly identifies the roles of "Curriculum Developer" and "Teacher" with this new feature! Admins can name "Teachers" vs. "Curriculum Developers" on every curriculum map. These are the capabilities that come with each role:

  Curriculum Developer Teacher
View the Assigned Unit Plans
Edit the Assigned Unit Plans X
Create Lesson Plans
View collaborator Lesson Plans

Enhanced "My Courses" Dashboard Panel

Now, with the “My Courses” dashboard panel, a user (Curriculum Developer, or Teacher) is only one click away from:

  • Access to any unit for the courses they are assigned to.
  • Viewing all lesson plans for any units in their courses.
  • Creating new lesson plans (if the “Lesson Plan” feature is turned on).

Atlas and ManageBac+ Integration

We are delighted to announce the first phase of our Atlas curriculum integration with ManageBac+ available from May 2019.

This integration allows mutual Atlas & ManageBac+ schools to collaboratively plan and edit Atlas units directly within ManageBac+ classes with single-sign-on. No data migration is required and existing Atlas courses & Subjects can be easily mapped to your ManageBac+ classes in a day or less.

With the integration enabled, Curriculum Developers will be able to seamlessly add, browse, and edit Atlas units directly within their ManageBac+ class. To learn more, feel free to check out our resources hereunder:

Admin Creates Lesson Planner Templates

In Atlas, users save time by creating lesson plan templates that they can reuse. Now Admins can design lesson plan templates that any user can access and apply to new lessons!

  • Up to eight active admin-created templates are supported per site.
  • An unlimited number of draft templates are supported. Draft templates are marked as "inactive."
  • Our new Rich Text Editing tool supports tables to be included in lesson templates.
  • Admin-managed templates are prefixed with a schoolhouse icon, so it's easy for users to distinguish them from templates they created.
