You can add a guest account in Atlas for a curriculum review team, and supply them with custom Atlas Reports that highlight your school’s curriculum strengths. All reviewers can access the same account simultaneously, so you only need one guest account for multiple users.
(Time: ~10 minutes, plus time to run desired reports)
Instructions:
Step 1. Create guest reviewer account
As the time approaches for your accreditation visit, create guest account using an anonymous guest account with a fake email address.
1. From Admin > Manage Users:
- Add the guest account information. Make sure to use YOUR SCHOOL domain in the fake email, it doesn't matter if the email doesn't exist in your school's database.
2. Go to Admin > Reset Passwords, reset the guest password to your site's default password. This is an important step that prevents them from needing to access the fake email account to login.
3. Then logout of your account, and login with the guest account using your site's default password. Setup a personal password, then login to the Guest account.
Step 2. Create and save curriculum views & reports that you wish to highlight
Log in to the reviewer's account, and start saving reports to My Saved Reports page. When you're viewing any report page in Atlas:
- Click Actions at the top right corner of your page and select Save Reports.
- Type in the report name, then click Save.
You’ll want to be familiar with the variety of Atlas views and reports available to you. Our support article onAtlas Reports can help you get started, and you’ll find a good webinar about Atlas Reports on ourVideos page. Your Atlas support team can help you run specific reports and curriculum views you have in mind, so feel free to contact us at support@onatlas.com.
Common reports for curriculum review teams include:
- Filtered Course List (e.g., Math K-12) that reviewers may need to access. Visit our All Curriculum > All Courses page to learn more.
- Standards Alignment Details (e.g., Math, Language Arts, Technology, or 21st Century Skills) within your school or across grade levels.
- Assessment Methods Mix (written, oral, etc.) given to students at each grade/school level.
- Keyword Search of a keyword or phrase in the curriculum across grades, representing either a curriculum topic or skill addressed (e.g., “Civil Rights”, "Research", or “Inquiry”).
- Differentiated Instruction or Technology Integration strategies implemented across the district.
Step 3. Review & customize the saved reports page
From My Atlas > My Saved Reports:
- Review the reports currently in the list. - do they all have clear names? If not, easily rename the reports by clicking the pencil under “Actions” to ensure reviewers understand what the report is and why it is included. Click here to learn more about managing reports on this page.
- Tip: Match the language in your accreditation or review standards or guides to make it clear to reviewers why this report was included.
Step 4. Review Quick Links
Remove any that are not relevant. Recommendation: only keep Favorites and Saved Reports. Click here to learn more about dashboard customization and modifying the Quick Links.
Step 5. Share guest login credentials with the review team
You can now share the following login information with your visiting review team:
- Your school’s Atlas URL (xxx.rubiconatlas.org)
- Guest account email address
- The password you set-up
Once they login, they'll be directed to the My Dashboard page where they’ll see the Quick Links tiles you’ve added for them, and can use this as a starting point for reviewing your curriculum.
Step 6. After the review, reset reviewer password
Once the review is complete, we recommend that you reset the guest password to protect your school's curriculum privacy.
Visit Admin > Reset Passwords to reset the password for the guest reviewer account.
