The "Manage Courses" page in the Admin Dashboard shows by default all the Course Assignments in your system for the current academic year. This list should include every class being taught. You can also switch to view the Course Titles page that is a catalog of all possible course names in each subject and grade level.

Course Assignments: This represents the actual courses that are set up and used in your system. It includes all the courses that are currently being taught, with specific details about each one, such as the assigned teachers and the units covered. It shows the practical application of the course titles in your school.
Course Titles: This refers to the catalog of all possible course names in each subject and grade level. It serves as a list of predefined titles that can be used when creating new courses. Add, Edit, Delete and Restore Courses
Add New Course
From Admin > Manage Courses
1. Click Add New Course.
2. Required: select a Subject.
3. Required: select a Grade.
4. Required: select "Course Title." Start typing your course title, and a list of existing titles will appear. You can choose one from the list to maintain consistent naming conventions. If it's a new title, click the "Create new" option.
5. Required: select a School.
6. Optional: select a Map Type. Click here to learn more about Map Types.
7. Optional: If your Atlas includes a Public Site version, this box will be visible. You can check the "Show on Public Site" box to make this course visible on the Atlas Public Site.
8. Optional: In the Users field, type the first few letters of a user's name to select from the list. By default, the user will be assigned as a Curriculum Developer, allowing them to create and edit units and lessons. If you select the Teacher option, the user will only be able to create and edit lessons, but not units. You can assign multiple users to one course.
9. Click Save to create the new course.
Rename a Course
From Admin > Manage Courses
1. Use the filters to find the specific course.
2. Click the pencil icon "Edit" to view the edit course menu.
3. In the Course Title field, start typing your course title, and a list of existing titles will appear. You can choose one from the list to maintain consistent naming conventions. If it's a new title, click the "Create new" option.
4. Click Save.
Edit a Course
Course attributes that you can change: School, Subject, Grade, Course Title, Map Type, and Users.
From Admin > Manage Courses
1. Use the filters to find the specific course.
2.Click the pencil icon "Edit" to view the edit course menu.
3. You cannot change the Subject and Grade unless you click the X to remove the current Course Title.
4. After making the changes, click Save to apply your changes.
Delete a Course
From Admin > Manage Courses
1. Use the filters to find the specific course.
2. Click the bin icon "Move to Recycle Bin" to view the delete course menu. Click Confirm.
Restore a Deleted Course From the Recycle Bin
From Admin > Manage Courses
1.Click the Recycle Bin button located at the top of your list of courses.
2. Use the filters to locate the course you wish to view and/or restore. Click Restore to restore a deleted course.
3. If the course was deleted in previous years, select the year in the Current Year filter, then click away to activate the filter.
Due to cloud storage considerations that might affect your Atlas performance, we reserve the right to delete anything older than 5 years in the Recycle Bin.
Manage Courses Filters
To assist you with site cleanup and make it easier to find courses, you can use the filters on the left to narrow down the list by specific criteria. Once you click away from any filter selection, the list of results will update automatically :
- Type a Course Name: to look for specific courses by its title.
- Type a User Name: to view courses assigned to specific user.
- by Grade: to view courses assigned to a specific course.
- by Subject: to view courses under a specific department or subject.
- by School: to view courses under a specific school.
- by School Type: to view courses under a specific school type.
- by Map Type: if enabled, to view courses assigned to a specific map type.
Optional: Click the check boxes at the bottom of the filters to narrow down your results:
- Courses without Units: to view empty courses.
- Courses without Lessons: to only view courses that has no lessons.
- Courses without Curriculum Developers: to view courses that are not assigned to any Curriculum Developers (though they may still be assigned to teachers).
- Courses without Teachers: to view courses that are not assigned to any teachers (though they may still be assigned to Curriculum Developers).
- Courses without Course Description: to view courses that has no course description in its Unit Calendar page.
You can sort the course list by clicking the header of any column or selecting an option from the "Sort by" drop-down menu. This drop-down menu useful when your screen is minimized and not all columns are visible for automatic sorting.
- Map Type.
- Public Site.
- Course.
- Last Updated Date.
- Number of Units.
- Number of Lessons.
- Grade.
- Subject.
- School.
Click the "Sort in reverse order" icon to change the sorting order of the list to its opposite.
Bulk Actions
You can perform various bulk actions on the Course Assignments page to streamline site cleanup. These bulk actions can save you time by allowing you to make multiple changes at once, such as updating or deleting several course assignments simultaneously, rather than handling them one by one.
Choose the courses you want to perform a bulk action on by checking the boxes next to their titles. Bulk action icons will appear in the top right corner, below the Recycle Bin button:
1. Add Editors to Selected Courses: to assign user(s) as either "Curriculum Developer(s)" or "Teacher(s)" to multiple courses simultaneously.
- Type the first few letters of the user's name and select from the list.
- Once selected, you can switch the user's role between Curriculum Developer and Teacher.
- Click Add to apply the bulk assignment.
2. Remove Editors from Selected Courses: to remove user(s) from multiple courses simultaneously.
- Type the first few letters of the user's name and select from the list.
- Click Remove to apply the bulk removal.
3. Move Selected Courses to Recycle Bin: to remove the selected courses from the current year curriculum list.
- Click Confirm to send the courses into the Recycle Bin.
- Courses can be restored later by clicking the Recycle Bin button. Refer to Restore Deleted Courses From the Recycle Bin section above.
