Search Activity by Keyword
Click the magnifying glass in the Search bar > Activity:
1. Enter your keyword or phrase in the Keyword text field and/or filter your results by selecting one or more criteria from the drop-down menus. You may add unlimited filters throughout your search.
The drop-down menus will be populated based on the criteria selected in previous menus. For instance, when a school has been selected, only those grades and Courses associated with that school will be listed in the drop-down menus.
2. Select one or more activity types to view actions about a set of events.
- Curriculum Updates: Changes that Curriculum Developers make to their course curriculum or unit calendar, including changes to standards, assessments, and linked resources in a course. The curriculum that is on your favorites list or copied is also recorded here.
- Discussions: Open comments left on curriculum or reports.
- Reports Activity: Reports that are saved, shared, discusses, viewed, printed, or exported.
- Share Activity: Curriculum or reports that are shared with other users of the system.
- Site Updates: Changes made to the system by System Administrators, including changes to course assignments, the academic calendar, archive date, and School References.
- View Curriculum: Views of any curriculum map, unit map, or calendar through All Curriculum > All Courses. Views of the curriculum through My Atlas > My Courses are not recorded in the activity. If the map curriculum developer visited an archived copy of the map, the view will show up in the current year's activity. However, the curriculum developer's views activities in the current year map are not captured.
3. Click Search. If you searched for a keyword or a phrase, it would be highlighted in red within the search results.
- Sort the results by using the Sort By drop-down menu at the top of the results table.
- The name of the unit is listed at the top, along with the weeks when it is taught.
- The name of the Course, User, school, grade, and subject are displayed along the bottom for each search result.
Use the Thesaurus
Use the Thesaurus to include related keywords and synonyms in your results. This special search tool allows you to help establish a more consistent vocabulary across your school’s curricula.
1. Enter your keyword in the text field.
2. Check Use Thesaurus. For example, a search for the keyword “essay” may also return units that contain the word(s):
- written material
- piece of writing
- exposition
- writing exercise
- writing composition
- written composition
- position paper
- written critique
In the search results, all search terms and related keywords from the thesaurus will be highlighted in red.
View and Modify Terms in the Thesaurus
1. Enter a keyword in the text field and click Thesaurus.
2. Type a new synonym in the text field and click Add to include the new keyword into the Atlas Thesaurus.
3. Click Done to close the window, and return to Search > Curriculum.
You may remove a term you have added to the Thesaurus by clicking Delete.
Save and View a Saved Search
- To save a specific search, click the Actions button, and select Save.
- To access a saved search, click the Actions button, and select Open Saved Report.
View Graphical Reports
ListDisplays results in a summary format. This is the default view in Atlas.
PieDisplays results in a Pie Chart. View the chart by Subject, Grade, School, or User.
Click a pie piece to view further details from your results or click View to open a printable view in a new browser tab or window.
BarDisplays results in a bar graph. View the chart by Subject, Grade, School, or User.
Click one of the bars to drill into further results or click View to open a printable view in a new browser tab or window.
TabularDisplays results as a demographic summary. View the summary by Subject, Grade, School, or User.

View Activity on a Specific Map
Make informed updates to your curriculum, identify where conversations are happening and what is being talked about based on a real-time activity feed in your Atlas system. A wide range of curriculum activity is now visible to you and your colleagues, such as updates to the curriculum, a report is saved, someone joins a discussion, the curriculum is copied or shared, and a map is viewed.
From any curriculum view, you can select View Activity from Actions to see a list of every view, edit, share, copy, or discussion on that curriculum.
This activity is visible to all users. You cannot hide your activity from the activity menus.
Example
- If you are a leader in your institution, you can monitor the individual changes that Curriculum Developers are making to their curriculum.
- If you are a User, you can see which System Admins are reviewing the maps they have asked you to create.
- If you are mapping as part of a collaborative team, you can view activity to see what changes members of your team have made to your collaborative map recently.
Receive Activity Alerts
Your Activity Channel in the Notifications Channels (the envelop icon located at the top right side of your Atlas, next to your account name) contains a dynamic real-time feed of all curriculum activity in your Atlas system. Make purposeful changes to your student’s experience based on the concurrent enhancements to the curriculum made by your peers.
What Types of Activity Can I See?
- Curriculum Updates: Changes that Curriculum Developers make to their course curriculum or unit calendar, including changes to standards, assessments, and linked resources in a course. A curriculum that is favorited or copied is also recorded here.
- Discussions: Open comments left on curriculum or reports.
- Reports Activity: Reports that are saved, shared, discusses, pinned, viewed, printed, or exported.
- Share Activity: Curriculum or reports that are shared with other users of the system.
- Site Updates: Changes made to the system by System Administrators, including changes to course assignments, the academic calendar, archive date, and School References.
- View Curriculum: Views of any curriculum map, unit map, or calendar through All Curriculum > Browse. Views of the curriculum through My Atlas > My Courses are not recorded in the activity.
View Activity Channel
Activity Channel contains a dynamic, real-time feed of curriculum activity that applies to you.
1. Click the envelop icon next to your account name and select the Activity option in the drop-down menu to open the message feed.
You may search all activity channel by clicking the arrow next to Notifications header, then write your keyword in the search bar.
Set your preferences in My Settings to receive notifications when relevant activity occurs.
