Select the magnifying glass in the Search bar, then the Activity tab. Enter a keyword or choose filters and activity types, then select Search. To see activity on one map, open it and select Actions > View Activity.
For all Atlas users. Search the running feed of actions that you and your colleagues take in Atlas.
Curriculum activity is a running feed of actions taken in Atlas by you and your colleagues. Atlas records activity when:
- the curriculum is updated (units and lessons)
- a map or unit is viewed
- a report is saved
- someone joins a discussion
- the curriculum is copied or shared

Search activity by keyword
Select the magnifying glass in the Search bar, then Activity.

Enter a keyword or phrase in the Keyword field, choose criteria from the drop-down menus, or both. You can add as many filters as you like.
Each drop-down menu only lists options that match your earlier choices. For example, once you select a school, only that school's grades and courses are listed.
Select one or more activity types. See Activity types below.

Select Search. Your keyword or phrase is highlighted in red in the results.
In the results:
- Sort the results with the Sort By drop-down menu at the top of the results table.
- The unit name is at the top of each result, with the weeks when it is taught.
- The course, user, school, grade and subject are shown at the bottom of each result.
Activity types
- Curriculum Updates: changes Curriculum Developers make to their course curriculum or unit calendar, including standards, assessments and linked resources. Curriculum that is added to favourites or copied is also recorded here.
- Discussions: open comments left on curriculum or reports.
- Reports Activity: reports that are saved, shared, discussed, pinned, viewed, printed or exported.
- Share Activity: curriculum or reports shared with other users of the system.
- Site Updates: changes System Administrators make to the system, including course assignments, the academic calendar, the archive date and School References.
- View Curriculum: views of any curriculum map, unit map or calendar through All Curriculum > All Courses (also described as All Curriculum > Browse).
Views through My Atlas > My Courses are not recorded. If the map's Curriculum Developer views an archived copy of the map, the view shows in the current year's activity. Their views of the current year map are not recorded.
Use the thesaurus
The Thesaurus adds related keywords and synonyms to your results. It helps build a more consistent vocabulary across your school's curricula.
Enter your keyword in the text field.
Tick Use Thesaurus.
For example, a search for "essay" may also return units that contain: written material, piece of writing, exposition, writing exercise, writing composition, written composition, position paper or written critique.
All search terms and related thesaurus keywords are highlighted in red in the results.
View and change thesaurus terms
Enter a keyword in the text field and select Thesaurus.
Type a new synonym in the text field and select Add to add it to the Atlas thesaurus.
Select Done to close the window and return to Search > Curriculum.
To remove a term you added, select Delete.
Save and open a saved search
- To save a search, select Actions > Save.
- To open a saved search, select Actions > Open Saved Report.
View graphical reports
List shows results as a summary. This is the default view.
Pie shows results as a pie chart by subject, grade, school or user. Select a slice to see more detail, or select View to open a printable view in a new browser tab or window.
Bar shows results as a bar chart by subject, grade, school or user. Select a bar to drill into the results, or select View to open a printable view in a new browser tab or window.
Tabular shows results as a demographic summary by subject, grade, school or user. Select one of the bars to drill into the results, or select View to open a printable view in a new browser tab or window.
View activity on a specific map
Use the activity feed to see where conversations are happening and what has changed, so you can make informed updates to your curriculum.
From any curriculum view, select Actions > View Activity to see every view, edit, share, copy or discussion on that curriculum.
This activity is visible to all users. You cannot hide your activity from the activity menus.
How might I use this?
- As a school leader, you can follow the changes individual Curriculum Developers make to their curriculum.
- As a user, you can see which System Admins are reviewing the maps they asked you to create.
- As part of a collaborative mapping team, you can see what your team has recently changed on your shared map.
View the Activity channel
The Activity channel in your notifications is a real-time feed of curriculum activity that applies to you. Use it to keep up with changes your colleagues make to the curriculum.
Select the envelope icon next to your account name, at the top right of Atlas.

Select Activity in the drop-down menu to open the feed.
To search the Activity channel, select the arrow next to the Notifications heading and type your keyword in the search bar.
To get notifications when relevant activity happens, set your preferences in My Settings.
